Best Mushroom Coffee Pureblends
Pureblends are the type of Mushroom Coffee that pick one mushroom and focus on one benefit. Most pureblends are formulated to boost your focus and energy, which means concentrating on the brain-boosting Lions Mane mushroom extract. Here are our top 5 pureblends available today in the UK.
Price Comparison
In terms of price, we compared them based on what you'd be paying each month as a regular customer.
Although the prices vary, looking at it in terms of price per serving makes it a lot easier to make sense of it all. And there's a big difference between first and last place!

And because Lion's Mane is particularly important for focus and energy, we also ran the numbers on value for money (i.e. how much you get for your money for each brand).

#1 - Healthy Yeti
Healthy Yeti’s mushroom coffee focuses entirely on Lion’s Mane, with a whopping 1000mg of extract per serving.
The effect of the generous dose really was noticeable in terms of better concentration and feeling energised.
What stood out to us too was the clean ingredient list. There are no artificial flavourings, sweeteners or fillers. That makes it one of the cleanest labels we found during our research.
Their blend stood out as one of the few with a natural and authentic coffee taste (no doubt helped by the absence of additives, which often taste unpleasant) making it a great replacement for your morning coffee.
Taste - rich and full-bodied. An excellent real coffee taste that has depth and a nice aroma too.
As you can see from the table, it came number one for value for money. Their combination of high-strength doses and reasonable price means it's only 6p per 100 mg of Lion’s Mane (with second place being 40p!)
Overall it’s a strong daily option for people who mainly want to boost their focus and productivity without spending a fortune every month.
The good taste combined with topping both tables for cost and value for money means it’s our #1 pick.

#2 - Four Sigmatic
This American brand helped bring mushroom coffee into the mainstream. Their Focus Coffee combines organic coffee with Lion’s Mane and Rhodiola, creating a blend aimed at concentration and mental performance.
Their blend did well in the taste test and works well as an alternative for your morning coffee.
And they boast a clean label without additives or artificial flavourings.
But the main issue is that each cup only contains 250mg of Lion's Mane. So while we could still feel some positive effects, it was less noticeable.
In terms of cost, they ranked third for both price per serving and value for money (although it was very close on both counts!)
Overall, Four Sigmatic are doing a lot of things right and their blend remains a solid option. Despite coming slightly lower in the price comparison tables, their product offers a good taste and a clean ingredients label meaning their get our #2 spot.

#3 - London Nootropics
London Nootropics takes an aesthetic-conscious approach with individual sachets presented in sleek, gift-worthy packaging.
Their Flow blend is built around Lion’s Mane, providing 250mg per serving. That places it a bit of distance from the top spot of 1000mg, and again the positive effects of the Lions Mane are less noticeable as a result.
When it came to flavour, we found it had a more distinctive mushroomy character than some of the others. The earthy notes were definitely noticeable when made black (although adding milk helped to soften them).
However, one ingredient on the label that caught our attention was “natural flavouring”. It’s a term manufacturers can use instead of listing all their flavouring ingredients separately. While this doesn’t necessarily mean a poor-quality product, it’s a loophole used to hide things from customers that brands would rather they didn’t know about.
Price-wise, London Nootropics does well, sitting strong at #2 for both tables.
They also gain bonus points for their attractive packaging.
Overall, they have done well to offer an attractive product at relatively competitive prices. But the taste and the “natural flavouring” issues means they narrowly miss out to Four Sigmatic and come in at #3.

#4 - Upraising
Upraising takes a slightly different approach from most mushroom coffee brands on this list.
Their blend is designed to be brewed using a french press, moka pot or pour-over device. So you’ll need the right equipment and a bit more time to prepare it. If convenience is important to you, the previous options on this list are definitely quicker.
In terms of value for money, because there are only 20 servings per pack it works out as £1.12 per serving and puts it #4 in the table.
We tried it using a french press, and the taste was good with an authentic aroma. But considering the higher price point and that it still only contains 250mg of Lion's mane per serving, we didn't believe there was enough to justify the price difference and extra effort to prepare each day.

#5 - Quirky Monkey- 'Switched On'
Quirky Monkey’s blend is also designed to be brewed using coffee equipment, in this case a filter machine, cafetière or espresso machine.
The blend combines coffee, Lion’s Mane and raw cacao powder, creating something that sits somewhere between a coffee and a hot chocolate. The cacao moves it too far away from the authentic coffee flavour we were ideally looking for in this comparison (but then again, some people might prefer the chocolatey taste!)
The product comes in a nice reusable tin - however, each tin contains only around 10–15 servings, so it can disappear surprisingly quickly compared to other brands that provide a full month’s supply.
It also means that it has the most expensive price per serving at £1.25 (almost exactly double the price of our top pick, Healthy Yeti).
Unfortunately, Quirky Monkey loses points for not specifying on their website the exact quantity of Lions Mane per serving.
This combined with the most expensive price means they came in at #5.

Other Pureblends
Not every mushroom coffee revolves around Lion’s Mane.
If you’re looking for something different, these are three interesting options built around other functional mushrooms.
Chaga - Freshly Fermented
Chaga is often called the “King of Mushrooms” thanks to its high antioxidant content.
Freshly Fermented’s Chaga Coffee focuses entirely on this mushroom, making it a good option for people who are more interested in general wellness and immune support than cognitive performance.
It’s one of the few dedicated Chaga coffees we came across during our research.

Cordyceps - London Nooptropics (Mojo)
Cordyceps is commonly associated with energy, stamina and physical performance, which makes Mojo popular among active individuals and athletes looking for natural energy sources.
If your goal is boosting your energy for workouts, Cordyceps is a mushroom worth exploring.

Reishi - Quirky Monkey
Reishi sits at the opposite end of the spectrum from Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps.
Instead of focus or energy, Reishi is traditionally associated with relaxation and stress support.
Quirky Monkey’s Reishi Coffee offers something quite unusual in the mushroom coffee world: a coffee designed around calmness rather than stimulation.

Wrapping Up
One thing became very clear during our research - the world of mushroom coffee is surprisingly complicated!
Finding the best one for you depends entirely on what you’re trying to achieve.
If focused energy is your priority, Lion’s Mane-based products are your best bet.
If you’re more interested in immunity, energy or relaxation, then Chaga, Cordyceps and Reishi may be a better fit.
The good news is that pureblends make the decision much easier.
Instead of paying for lots for different mushrooms you may not need, you can simply choose the benefit you care about most and find a product built specifically around that goal.
That’s where the best value for money can be found, which is especially important for a product designed to be used every day.
